Growing Our Faith

"If you have the faith as big as a mustard seed, you can say to this hill,'Go from here to there' and it will go. You could do anything."
(Matthew 17:20)

Why study faith?

Because the Bible is clear about what promises we are to obtain by faith, and what it produces in our lives or what lack of it will fail to produce. If God places within our hands the means whereby faith can be produced, then the responsibility of whether we have faith or not rests upon us.

As “seedlings” it is our responsibility to take what is taught to us by Fr. Slawomir and in Bible Study, Ministry Formation, Catechism, etc., and grow in spirituality. It is our responsibility to “grow St. Mary Church” by fostering our own fellowship through discussion and understanding of God’s good news. To that end, we offer:

Prayer Warriors

Mondays from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at the Mother Church: prayerful afternoon designed to give peaceful reflection to those desiring quality time devoted to God. It is an opportunity to rest from our anxieties, fears, or work, by reaching out to God through prayer. The Rosary, The Angelus, Chaplets, and Divine Mercy are some of the selections used.

"Seeds for Thought"

1st Wednesday of every month starting September 2, 2009, 11:30 a.m. - 1.00 p.m., meeting room within the Halifax Plantation Clubhouse dining room. Reservation required by contacting Mike and Nancy at (286) 671 - 7788. Meeting begins with opening prayer, a review of the upcoming Sunday readings and Gospel, a Saint of the Week, a question of the Week and other topics pertinent to the Church and to St. Mary. Individuals order their own lunch. Guest speakers will periodically attend and the agenda will be adapted to the needs of the group.
